This modified wave form enables the thermostat to switch power on and off as if it were normal AC power. When AC is not made available to the unit, solar power will be fed to the unit. Therefore, it is necessary to limit the amount of time that AC is made available. These take the place of a geyser timer and allows user control of timer functions as well as setting of independent temperatures for heating by grid AC and by DC Solar.
