DESCRIPTION

The new GeyserTECH Pi2R Micro LV (Low Voltage) geyser solar controller is the latest addition to the GeyserTECH Pi2R family. It is specifically designed for situations where there is limited roof space and can work with only 2 standard solar panels. It can feed your existing electrical geyser with two power sources i.e. AC grid power and DC PV Solar power, or be used entirely off-grid.

The GeyserTECH Pi2R converts the current from the PV solar modules to a modified square wave which can be connected directly to the existing standard thermostat and element of your geyser. This modified wave form enables the thermostat to switch power on and off as if it were normal AC power. There is no need to replace the element or thermostat.

The GeyserTECH Pi2R LV can be paired with our optional Digital Touchscreen Display or with an AC-connected geyser timer or used completely Off-Grid.

Whenever AC power is fed to the unit, it will be fed through to the geyser - this is done so as to allow the user to override solar at any time that it is required. When AC is not made available to the unit, solar power will be fed to the unit. Therefore, it is necessary to limit the amount of time that AC is made available. This can be achieved by either:

Using the system completely off-grid
Manually switching AC on and off as required
Utilising a standard geyser timer to switch AC, typically for and hour or so in the evening or early morning.
Pairing the controller with an optional GeyserTECH Digital Touchscreen Display. These take the place of a geyser timer and allows user control of timer functions as well as setting of independent temperatures for heating by grid AC and by DC Solar. The Digital Touchscreen Display is available in two versions, one with WiFi and one without. The version with WiFi can connect to the internet for remote monitoring and control via a web-based online application
