to the easiest and most efficient way to REDUCE YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL. Connect the GeyserTECH Pi2R Geyser Solar Controller directly to your existing geyser.

1... Connect 3 or 4 solar panels to our geyserTech unit

Mount the geyserTECH Pi2R Solar Controller in the vicinity of your geyser and connect it (via appropriate PV fuses) to an array of 2, 3 or 4 solar panels (depending on controller model)

Configuring your system

2... Connect the AC connection to our unit

The AC connection that was connected to your geyser is then connected to the geyserTECH Pi2R (again via an appropriate isolator)

Bear in mind that there is a need to limit the time that AC is made available to the unit. This can be acieved by either:

1. Installing a geyser timer

2. Connecting one of our optional Digital Displays (Pi2R iX only)

3. Switching AC off manually or using the sytem entirely off-grid

The final step is to connect the geyserTECH Pi2R unit to your existing standard electrical geyser at the same connection points on the thermostat where the AC power was originally connected.

There is NO NEED TO CHANGE neither the element nor the thermostat.

    The Geysertech+ Pi2R Micro is the smaller of the two units. Capable of delivering up to 7.5A, this unit is suitable for geysers between 50 and 150L with element size up to 3KW. Use it off-grid or grid connected through a digital geyser timer.

    GeyserTECH+ iX

    The Geysertech+ Pi2R iX is the larger of the two units. Capable of delivering up to 15A, this unit is suitable for geysers between 50 and 300L with element size up to 4KW. Use it off-grid or grid connected through a digital geyser timer. The iX can also be paired with the optional Digital Display to form the Geysertech SMART.

    GeyserTECH+ Micro LV

    The NEW Geysertech+ Pi2R Micro LV is the LOW VOLTAGE version of our popular Micro controller. Built specifically for applications where roof space is limited, the LV is designed to work with only 2 standard solar panels and is suitable for geysers up to 200L with element size up to 4KW. Use it off-grid or grid connected through a digital geyser timer. The LV can also be paired with the optional Digital Display.

The geyser is one of the average household’s highest consumers of electricity and also one of the most difficult to connect to a solar system due to the high current draw. Our modules will fill that gap in your energy planning by feeding directly from solar PV panels to the existing geyser element - no need to change your geyser’s element.

The GeyserTECH+ Pi²R Micro and GeyserTECH+ Pi²R iX GSU’s are both AC and DC connected. This means one can set when grid power should be used to top up the temperature - typically early morning and late evening. This is achieved by means of a timer on the Micro and standard iX and by the programmable touch screen which comes with the iX SMART.

The use of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels means that the longevity of the system will be considerably better than that of thermal solar systems due to the lack of perishable piping.
